Rahul and his very own Record Label
Rahul Sabbarwal, also known as upcoming artist Master RS, has always had a love for music since the age of 12. He would sit and watch Hip Hop Heavyweights such as Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G. and P Diddy perform tracks and music videos on TV.
He started producing his own music by the age of 15, and was eventually spotted as a producer when, within a year in the production industry he had sent a demo to ACA Management.
Rahul went on to progress as an artist however struggled as he found none of the labels in West Yorkshire supported hip hop/rap/r n b music. So he created M.R.S. Records, his own record label within West Yorkshire which supported artists of all genres.
His aim was to help the community and especially youngsters who had no where else to turn. Rahul realised that with studios such as Waxworks losing their funding and there being no free studios, youngsters within West Yorkshire did not have the same opportunities that youngsters in other cities such as London did.
Rahul wanted to help the situation and using his own money from a part time job he had whilst studying, Rahul managed to net a distribution deal for his label with a global distributor. He continued to work at his label and even got a merchandise range for his artists signed. In December 2009 he was the successful winner of Bradford Enterprise’s Business Competition, run by Bradford College. This created a roll on effect and Rahul was offered a business counselling through the Bradford Enterprise Academy.
By opening M.R.S Records he scouted and recruited the best talent around from local shows, network sites and contracted them.
One of the biggest names Rahul has supported and helped from the streets is Relly G, whom Rahul not only helped as an artist but also gained him a performance spot at the event ‘Give Me Bass’ at Generation X Nightclub on Saturday 28th November 2009 alongside BBC 1xtra’s DJ Q and many other names.
Along with running his own record label Rahul has also had huge compliments by having his music played on Sunrise Radio, Fresh FM, Bassline FM and other radio stations across the UK. Most recently Rahul as an artist for his label has had 2 Number 7 TV Chart Music Videos on Sky Digital Channel AKA.
Rahul is hoping to achieve a platform for artists from West Yorkshire and the UK to showcase their music and talents whilst also expanding his label to a global company which runs artists management and event management.
