Overview

The Award in Developing Busienss Enterprise is a level 2 Award aimed at level 3 FE students who wish to find out about starting their own business or becoming self employed.  The development of the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding will also enable adults to make a career change or enhance learners’ prospects in the workplace.

Aims

  • Instil confidence and encourage the motivation of individuals as they setup and run a small enterprise.
  • Raise learner’s awareness of essential business issues surrounding the setting up and running of a small business.
  • Provide guidance to learner’s considering of running their own business, or have already started in self employment as a career option and wish to further develop an existing business.
  • Provide learner’s a firm understanding of good business working practice.
  • Understand the policies and procedures that will assist small businesses to optimise performance
  • Be creative, imaginative and innovative in generating business ideals and in the solution of business problems
  • Formulate a business plan

UNIT 1 – Understand, explore and prepare for enterprise.

UNIT 2 – Developing your business idea.

UNIT 3 – Developing your business plan.

UNIT 4 – Make a cash flow forecast.

UNIT 5 – Business legislation and effective marketing for small business.

The completion of mandatory assessments in all units are required when working towards the NCFE accredited Award in Developing Business Enterprise.
